Job description

$17.14 - $20.00 an hour

The Fiscal Intermediary Associate will assist people with intellectual disabilities and their families, utilize self-directed services. The Fiscal Intermediary is responsible for implementation of services as listed in the approved budget, and assist in payment of approved goods and services. This position requires a high degree of customer service and ensures best practices are carried out to achieve service effectiveness and efficiency.

Core Responsibilitiesย 

  • Work with people we support and brokers to initiate and complete the self-direction process.
  • Explain all fiscal procedures and required waiver documentation to people we support and their families; such as the hiring and training of staff.
  • Provide the Self-Direction individuals with copies of all written policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between the person and their family, broker, and OPWDD.
  • Monitor the personโ€™s budget utilization and perform monthly financial statement oversight.ย 
  • Provide quality assurance and administrative support working with individuals and their families.
  • Perform OPWDD and compliance reviews of Life Plans.
  • Attend Life Plan meetings semi-annually representing the Fiscal Intermediary, assessing satisfaction of services and financial budget oversight.
  • Assist with record keeping, gathering required documentation for Community Hab/FI services, and providing follow up as needed.
  • Provide administrative support including data entry and entering information into CHOICES system
  • Completes all assignments in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of statistical data
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
  • Ensure understanding of changes in the field
  • Performs other related duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in related field.
  • Must have a valid New York State driverโ€™s license.
