Senior Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis

Capital One is seeking a motivated professional to join the FP&A Tech Finance team as a Senior Associate supporting Enterprise Data (eData). As a Senior Associate, you will serve as a dedicated finance business partner to this dynamic organization. You will advise leaders on strategic decisions, challenge the status quo, and improve our current processes to make them more proactive, effective, and efficient.

About the Enterprise Data (eData) Team

Since the beginning, Capital One has leveraged data to drive strategic decisions and create value for customers. The Enterprise Data (eData) organization is at the heart of this mission, building a modern data ecosystem of platforms, products, and processes. Our goal is to ensure data is well-managed, easy to govern, and easy to find, understand, and use so the business can deliver real-time, intelligent experiences. • Cross-Functional Partnership: Build strong relationships across the organization to support Product, Technology, and Design on strategic projects. Leverage financial insights to influence decision-making, present analytical outcomes to senior audiences, and seamlessly manage ad-hoc requests.

  • Process Excellence & Improvement: Develop new methodologies, build streamlined reports, and provide better transparency into financial results.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Intellectually Curious & Transparent: High personal and professional integrity, coupled with a willingness to dig into anything and everything to find the truth through data, objectively evaluate outcomes, and continuously develop technical skills (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python).

  • Strategic-Minded & Proactive: A strong business sense with an intrinsic drive to anticipate business needs, independently manage priorities, and see the bigger picture beyond the numbers to maintain a high bar for excellence.

  • Structured Thinker & Strong Communicator: A low-ego team player who can distill complex financial problems into digestible insights, influence cross-functionally, and collaborate seamlessly.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis

  • At least 1 years of experience with financial modeling

  • At least 1 year of experience in a Financial Planning function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quantitative Bachelor's Degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, or Engineering)

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, or Accounting

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
