Job description

Join our team as a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist in Springfield, OH. You will function as a member of a cardiac team, assisting physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures. You will ensure patient safety by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team. This role supports cardiac and vascular cases including CABG, valve procedures, carotids, fem-pop bypasses, TAVR, TCAR, EVAR, and TVAR. You may support procedures in the cath lab as needed and float to the main OR when cardiac or vascular cases are not scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program (NBSTSA, NBSTA/TS-C, or NCCT as applicable).
  • BLS certification required upon hire or prior to direct patient care.
  • Minimum of 2 years cardiac (CVOR) experience. At least 1-2 years of general surgical experience is required.
  • Experience with cardiac and vascular procedures such as CABG, valve surgery, carotid procedures, peripheral vascular bypass, and TAVR preferred.
  • Competence with sterile technique, surgical counts, instrument handling, specimen labeling, and intraoperative support functions.
  • Willingness and ability to be accessible for scheduled on-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response expectation when assigned.
  • Ability to float to the main OR as needed.
  • Previous travel experience preferred for travel role.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting hybrid CVOR rooms and cath lab procedures.
  • Experience with TAVR and other transcatheter procedures preferred.

Assignment Details
  • Shift: Mid shift schedule.
  • Shift length: 8 or 10 hour shifts.
  • On-call rotation includes approximately 10-15 calls per six-week period when covering heart call.
  • 30 minute response time for call coverage.
  • May float to main OR when no cardiac or vascular cases are scheduled.
  • Arrangements can be made for a place to sleep if needed during call.
