Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to support our Billing team with account verification, data processing, and patient information management. This individual will play a key role in ensuring patient account records are accurate, complete, and up to date by reviewing account information, researching missing details, communicating with patients, and updating records within internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

Review and verify patient account information for accuracy and completeness.

Process new information and updates into patient account systems.

Utilize Microsoft Excel extensively to track, organize, and analyze account data.

Research and obtain missing patient information using available resources and internal systems.

Contact patients by phone to gather information needed to maintain accurate account records.

Review paper reports and documentation and accurately enter updates into electronic systems.

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all applicable privacy and security requirements.

Collaborate with billing and operational teams to resolve account discrepancies.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of account updates and documentation.

Perform additional administrative and data-entry tasks as needed.

Duties:

Handle provider credentialing.

Enrolling new Doctors, nurses, PAs etc in different medical practices within Rochester Regional.

Work with 20+ insurance companies to ensure accuracy of Doctors enrolled and how many nurses and PAs are under their practice.

Ensure effective date and provider information correct.

Part of the billing revenue cycle but does not do billing itself!

Prepares documents to ensure accuracy and handles all priority cases firs as they come in.

Additional tasks as assigned by managers.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree preferred.

Previous experience in billing support, patient accounts, customer service, data entry, or administrative operations preferred.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and locate missing information.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Comfortable speaking with patients over the phone to obtain account information.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within healthcare, patient accounts, medical billing, or revenue cycle environments.

Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) or patient account systems.

This position works closely with the Billing team and requires a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and customer service while supporting patient account maintenance and verification activities.
