Job description

The ESH Coordinator serves as a key Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) subject matter expert for the Manufacturing Unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards while supporting a safe and sustainable workplace. This role partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to drive EHS performance, implement strategic initiatives, and strengthen the facility's safety culture. The position plays a critical role in developing management systems, improving employee engagement, and supporting continuous improvement efforts that align with business and EHS objectives. Success in this role requires strong regulatory knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a passion for protecting people and the environment.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as the EHS subject matter expert for the assigned Manufacturing Unit, providing guidance on environmental, health, and safety requirements and best practices.
  • Lead the implementation and execution of EHS initiatives that support plant, regional, and global EHS goals.
  • Ensure compliance with country, federal, state, local, and company EHS regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Support and participate in the EHS Management System Steering Committee and contribute to management system subcommittees and improvement activities.
  • Develop strategies to increase EHS engagement among salaried and hourly associates while partnering with cross-functional teams to strengthen plant culture and management systems.
  • Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics and KPIs, and support the development of annual operating plan (AOP) goals aligned with regional and global objectives.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, safety discipline, engineering or technical science, or a related field or an equivalent experience or meeting the minimum legal and regulatory requirements for a safety professional in the country of employment.
  • Master's Degree in environmental, safety discipline, engineering, Certified Industrial Hygienist or technical science or a related field is desired.
  • Experience implementing, running EHS&S programs in a large manufacturing facility (500+ associates) is preferred.
  • Experience developing EHS programs in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a labor union environment.
  • Experience tracking, trending and reporting EHS-related data.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local safety and environmental law and regulations.
  • Maintains high ethical standards; genuinely cares about the health, safety and well being of associates; minimizing environmental impacts and promoting sustainable practices.
  • Draws a firm line in ensuring Goodyear compliance with governmental laws and company standards/policies.
  • People focus mindset. Earns trust of labor and management.
  • Communication & presentation skills in order to convince, negotiate and handle matters at different levels.
