Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama's department of Institutional Research is seeking to hire an Associate Director, Data Analytics. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
  • Generates standard and custom reports and dashboards summarizing enrollment, student success, or other institutional summaries for review by executives, managers and other personnel.
  • Conducts robust statistical analysis in using advanced techniques for data modeling and predictive analytics.
  • Leads efforts in reporting data to inform decisions pertaining to enrollment and student success.
  • Publishes data visualizations related to student retention, graduation, persistence, and achievement.
  • Oversees and serves as the primary contact for data integrity of data maintained by Institutional Research in business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
  • Devises methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.
  • Ensures the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision-making capabilities.
  • Strengthens data-informed decision-making by leading the design, user experience, and delivery of institutional dashboards and analytical tools.
  • Serves on committees as needed.
  • Provides training and education to support dashboard adoption, data literacy and effective use of BI tools and data.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
