Job description

Job Description:
Operate as a member of multidisciplinary teams to Installs and commissions manufacturing equipment, maintain positive control of project materials, and facilitate the work of contract labor and/or vendor installation teams. The manufacturing engineering technician's primary responsibility is to execute and facilitate accomplishment of project tasks in accordance with the project schedule
Essential Responsibilities/Activities/Abilities:
  • Continuously drives culture change and acceptance of Lean Manufacturing principles across the organization.
  • Facilitate systematic problem solving and implementing solutions to solve the root-cause of problems related to non-conforming material and corrective action processes.
  • Provide guidance for root cause analysis and corrective action to all levels within the organization.
  • Support manufacturing with the implementation of efficient and reliable Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Supports and Leads Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S workshop activities and events.
  • Inspires and encourages the use of best practices throughout the organization.
  • Engages plant management and employees in conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and sustaining continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Frequently follows up with appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation and sustainability of continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with leadership to include identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects.
  • Collects and monitors activities to assess trends and opportunities to provide proactive recommendations.
  • Assist with establishing the measuring and tracking process for each initiative and provide timely reports to all stakeholders.
  • Install, test, and commission capital equipment ensuring that product design requirements are met per manufacturer and AAON procedures.
  • Provide technical training and cross training on all shifts to process leaders, line mechanics, and operating teams
  • Create and maintain manufacturing routings
  • Perform cycle time and time study analyses
  • Possess detailed knowledge of operations processes, facilities, services, practices, procedures and terminology
  • Possess detailed knowledge of operations machinery, equipment, materials and tools

Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree(s): Associates Degree pr Two-Year Degree from an Engineering Technical School Preferred
License(s): Refrigerant Handling License a plus
Certification(s): None
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in industrial operations setting or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Electrical, mechanical, machinist experience
  • Lean 6 Sigma training a plus
  • Additional supervisory or leadership training a plus

Work Environment:
  • Office with periodic visits to the test lab and manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs., climbing, stooping, sitting, or standing for prolonged periods.
