Job Summary:
Marathon TS is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer (Lead) to support a major DoD Joint Program Office IT Support Services program. This role provides senior-level technical leadership across enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, and network services supporting a globally distributed, mission-critical defense environment.
Responsibilities:
• Integrate, plan, coordinate, and facilitate enterprise information system activities
• Lead hardware and software upgrades, system design, and network development initiatives
• Support maintenance, performance, and security of enterprise networks
• Analyze organizational IT requirements (short- and long-term) from operational and strategic perspectives
• Ensure system availability, continuity, and information assurance
• Recommend and support continuous process improvement initiatives
• Perform formal software verification, validation, and automated testing
• Implement and maintain security tools and applications (e.g., Websense, ISA, McAfee HBSS)
• Administer SQL and Oracle database environments
• Develop and debug software in real-time, embedded, and multi-processor environments
• Maintain compliance with DoD Information Assurance policies and procedures
• Lead small technical teams (≤25 personnel) through solution design, development, integration, and deployment
Qualifications:
Required:
• VMware Infrastructure / vSphere
• Storage platforms: NetApp, EMC, SAN, NAS, Tape Arrays
• Microsoft Exchange & Active Directory (Windows 2003/2008 environments)
• Core network services: DNS, DHCP, PKI
• Web collaboration platforms (SharePoint, Oracle WebCenter Interaction)
• Java development (JDK, Eclipse, LEWIT, Kona)
• Linux and Windows operating systems
• Object-Oriented software design
• COTS integration (Oracle, WebMethods, ClearCase)
• MA/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline OR BA/BS + 6 additional years of experience in lieu of MA/MS
• 15+ years total experience in a relevant engineering or science field
• 4+ years in project planning, solution development, testing, and technical documentation
• 5+ years Microsoft Exchange experience
• 5+ years Active Directory administration
• 5+ years core network services administration
• IAT Level III (DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant) — or ability to obtain within 6 months of TOA
• CCNA and/or CCNP
• MCITP / MCTS (or modern Microsoft role-based equivalent such as Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102), Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (AZ-800/801), or Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500))
