Platform Mission Processing Computer (PMPC) Software Integrator

The Boeing Company is looking for Platform Mission Processing Computer (PMPC) Software Integrator to join Boeing's Mission Systems Software team in Berkeley, MO.
The team is looking to hire a senior software engineer capable of integrating various safety critical and mission critical flight software components, product security, and several software and hardware suppliers. This role will involve orchestrating the various teams through all phases of the software development life-cycle from requirements decomposition, architecture definition, software development and testing to include supplier technical oversight, integration of supplier and Boeing software and hardware, and documentation.
This role will be the primary software technical point of contact for all PMPC software integration, working closely with other key Mission Systems stakeholders, including the Analysis Integration and Test team and the Hardware teams. This role will also likely include opportunities to communicate and brief senior leadership and customer counterparts.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Directs the design, development, testing, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards.
  • Oversees software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software safety requirements are met
  • Tracks and evaluates supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Analyzes, monitors and improves the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems.
  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies.
  • Directs activities for software and hardware integration
  • Tracks and evaluates internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Performs embedded software project management functions.
  • Trains and mentors others
  • Works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience programming with Go, Java, C/C++, Rust, or Python
  • 3+ years of working knowledge and/or experience in software architecture and software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures
  • Experience leading software related projects or technical teams
  • Strong verbal and written skills, teaming skills, technical skills, and integration skills
  • Experience with embedded software architecture/development/design
  • Experience developing mission systems software on aircraft platforms
  • Hands on experience developing on the Linux platform and Windows
  • Experience with Agile software development and related processes
  • Familiar with safety critical software development
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems involving computer memory or timing considerations
  • Experience or familiarity with industry tools or development techniques such as the following; Embedded System Software, C, C++, Rust, Linux, VxWorks, Containers, Git, CI/CD DevSecOps, and/or Cameo
