EAD supports clients' projects on hundreds of systems in industrial manufacturing facilities specializing in food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing and parcel handling. This opportunity will enable you to enjoy a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities.EAD is looking for an Assistant Electrical Engineer to assist in providing engineering support for various industrial and commercial projects including: engineering calculations, power distribution, lighting design, controls design, and power analysis. ResponsibilitiesPrepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and EAD standardsElectrical design with primary responsibilities of power, lighting and grounding per client requirementsProvide studies of power quality, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash hazard analysisDevelopment of capital expenditure cost estimates for design/build projectsCoordinating with other internal team members on multi-discipline projects, which often includes architects, mechanical, process, civil and structural engineersWork with designers and drafters to produce detailed designsResolve design and development problemsWork with a team to deliver quality construction documentation – specifications, schematics, power and lighting plans, one-lines, etc.Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, project team and vendorsParticipate in discipline-specific and company-wide business developmentPerform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of qualityResponsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practicesPerform other related duties as assignedRequirements:B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institutionF.E. or commitment to obtain F.E. within first 12 months required with desire to obtain Licensed Professional Engineer certificationKnowledge of electrical engineering fundamentalsPossess organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and in-house support staffProficient with Excel spreadsheetsStrong attention to detailSelf-starter with strong attention to detailPossess and able to maintain a valid driver's licenseProficient in Microsoft OfficePreferred Certifications and skills:Knowledge of the NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards preferredWorking Conditions:Office, plant, or client site environment*Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of timeAbility to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditionsMay work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as neededTravel and/or field experience required*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment, as necessary.We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our customers and members.EAD is an Equal Opportunity Employer
