Job description

Associate Veterinarian

Lansing Animal Hospital, Lansing, Illinois, United States

At Lansing Animal Hospital, we work as a unit to deliver the best possible pet care to our community. As a small yet fully equipped small animal general practice, we handle a variety of cases, such as:

  • Ill pet visits and wellness exams
  • Soft tissue surgery, such as spay and neuters and mass removals
  • Dentals
  • Digital Radiography
  • Ultrasound

Our newly remodeled clinic also has 5 spacious exam rooms, with a separate euthanasia suite to ensure both patient and team comfort.

Our environment is different than other general practices. From the moment you step into our waiting room (what we call "the family room"), you are treated with respect and compassion whether you're a pet parent or a team member.

Our veterinarians work side-by-side with our support team and pet parents to create shared decisions and customized treatment plans. While many of our team members have unique backgrounds, we all have a shared calling in life—veterinary medicine. However, we understand it shouldn't be your whole life, which is why we offer flexible schedules, industry-leading pay and benefits, ample PTO, and more!

We're looking for a devoted, skilled and fun full-time veterinarian with a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring that vet visits are calm and enjoyable for their patients.

A collaborative team member who enjoys working with others and mentoring fellow staff, while remaining open to receiving feedback.

A professional dedicated to continuous growth, always striving to stay in-the-loop with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide routine wellness exams and diagnosis
  • Perform medical procedures such as vaccinations, dental procedures, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and necessary diagnostics
  • Administer and accurately monitor controlled substances
  • Maintain and complete patient records
  • Serve as mentor to technical support staff
  • Build and establish rapport with the client base, demonstrating exceptional bedside manner and communication

Qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an AVMA accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program
  • Licensure in the state of Indiana or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
  • Strong proficiency in medical knowledge and surgical skills
  • Exemplary professionalism and communication skills with both team members and clients
  • Strong decision-making and time-management skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth

Benefits and support include:

  • Competitive Compensation Package
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance
  • Short & Long Term Disability
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • 401K with company match
  • Paid Licensure and Dues
  • VIN Membership
  • CE Allowance
  • Uniform Allowance
  • And much more!
