Aon is Looking for a Director, Compensation Data Solutions

Aon is seeking a commercially focused Director, Compensation Data Solutions to help grow client relationships through custom benchmarking, compensation consulting, and market intelligence solutions. This role combines business development, strategic advisory, and deep analytical expertise, helping clients make better talent and rewards decisions through data-driven insights.

The successful candidate will lead client engagements from data collection, cleaning, validation, and market review through the delivery of actionable recommendations, while identifying opportunities to expand Aon's relationships and solutions portfolio. This role will primarily support clients across the Retail & Hospitality, Manufacturing, and Healthcare sectors.

The ideal candidate brings a strong compensation and consulting background, experience managing complex client engagements, and a proven ability to develop trusted client relationships that drive growth and long-term value.

What the day will look like

Client Growth, Data Advisory & Relationship Management

  • Build and expand strategic client relationships across Retail & Hospitality, Manufacturing, and Healthcare.
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue through custom benchmarking, compensation consulting, market intelligence, and organizational effectiveness engagements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior HR, Total Rewards, and business leaders, providing data-driven recommendations that support talent and compensation strategies.
  • Partner with consulting and sales teams to develop proposals, deliver presentations, and support new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate across Aon's Human Capital practices to deliver integrated solutions that address clients' evolving workforce and rewards challenges.

Custom Benchmarking, Data Management & Market Intelligence

  • Lead custom benchmarking and market intelligence engagements, overseeing the collection, cleaning, validation, and analysis of compensation and organizational data.
  • Conduct market reviews to assess data quality, identify outliers, validate job matches, and ensure accurate market positioning.
  • Partner with clients to normalize and validate compensation and workforce data, ensuring reliable benchmarking outcomes and actionable insights.
  • Leverage Aon's proprietary databases, survey resources, public company disclosures, and market intelligence tools to deliver high-quality analyses and recommendations.
  • Translate complex compensation and organizational data into meaningful business insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of data used in all client deliverables.

Project Leadership & Practice Development

  • Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality outcomes, and exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with consulting, operations, technology, and offshore teams to support data quality and project execution.
  • Contribute to the development of new benchmarking solutions, methodologies, thought leadership, and market insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, analytics capabilities, and client deliverables.
  • Mentor and support junior team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success

  • 7+ years of experience in compensation consulting, total rewards, workforce analytics, human capital consulting, or related advisory services.
  • Demonstrated success developing and expanding client relationships while identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Experience leading custom benchmarking, market pricing, compensation survey, and workforce analytics engagements.
  • Strong understanding of compensation strategy, benchmarking methodologies, job architecture, market pricing, and rewards program design.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing, cleaning, validating, and interpreting compensation and organizational data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information into actionable recommendations.
  • Proven project management skills and experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Exceptional executive presence, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting clients in Retail & Hospitality, Manufacturing, and/or Healthcare sectors preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Economics, Statistics, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 - $200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
