Job description

The Engineering Designer prepares engineering designs and detailed drawings for products and/or customer specific product applications.
Responsibilities:
• Designs and details engineering drawings for Cone Drive's precision gearing products, assemblies, and components.
• Ensures accuracy of work and adheres to project due dates as communicated by the design staff leader or project manager.
• Interprets design requirements obtained from customer drawings, design input documentation, and input from Product Development Engineers, Application Engineers, and Sales Representatives
• Reviews designs for compliance with customer requirements, manufacturability and ease of assembly.
• Adheres to approved design standards, change management (ECN) procedures, and drawing release processes.
• Works with Application Engineers and/or Product Development Engineers to ensure that designs meet functional, quality and cost targets.
• Participates in design and project reviews as required.
• Works with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing to optimize designs for meeting customer requirements.
• Ensures completed bills of material comply to customer requirements.
Requirements:
• Associate's degree in product design or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Design; Solid Edge (preferred) or Solid Works
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Products including MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Preferred:
• One year design experience
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data ("CTD") and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
