Our experts specialize in geotechnical engineering, construction materials evaluation, special inspections, geological sciences, subsurface exploration, and investigative engineering.
Summary
Join our team as a Construction Special Inspector, providing essential inspections and material testing on high-profile commercial projects throughout the Greater Syracuse, NY area. Help ensure compliance on some of the regions most exciting construction sites.ย 
Responsibilities

  • Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, fireproofing & firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and more.ย 
  • Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
  • Complete assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate established standards.ย 
  • Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner.ย 
  • Communicate regularly with project managers.ย 
  • Complete field data records and associated reports daily.ย 
  • Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC).ย 
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma required.ย 
  • Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary.ย 
  • Must possess at least one International Code Council (ICC) Certification for one of the following Special Inspector Categories: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld, or American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate through a State Board.ย 
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients, through clear communications and proactive progress reporting.ย 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Compensation: $23 - 32 / hour
