Overview
General Summary:
The Associate Graphic Designer for Nautica contributes to the development of seasonal concepts and works with the cross functional team to create innovative Men's & Women's graphics that support the brand and the financial goals of the category. He/she leverages trend awareness, creativity, and relationship building skills to fulfill these objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design innovative Men's & Women's apparel graphics that are aligned with overall seasonal design direction
  • Creatively explore all apparel graphics, new techniques and materials
  • Collaborate to develop creative typographic and layout solutions
  • Use trend intelligence and an understanding of the current and historical business to design and execute specific categories
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Merchandising, Production and Design) through communication and problem solving
  • Understand the fundamentals of the production process as it impacts graphic design projects
  • Adapt all approved layouts to various formats
  • Prepare inspiration/trend boards using creative methods
  • Manage deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar
  • Maintain project libraries; compile all reference material together with program files
  • Create Tech Packs and graphic mechanical artwork

Position Requirements:
  • Must have experience within apparel, (tees, hoodies, etc.)
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to innovate and think creatively
  • Strong sketching skills
  • Understanding of the Nautica customer
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in, Photoshop, & Illustrator/ Adobe Suite
