WHAT IS THE BRAND?

WHAT IS THE JOB?
As Associate Designer on the Sid Mashburn Design Team, you will support the team in all aspects of the Design and Product Development process. This role is onsite in Atlanta, GA.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?
  • Work directly with the Vice President of Design to develop assigned categories from concept to final product.
  • Work autonomously or with little guidance within established procedures and practices.
  • Responsible for creating all tech packs including sketching, technical details, measurements, garment construction, etc.
  • Responsible for running fitting sessions:
    • Preparing samples for fittings: measure, inspect, steam
    • Schedules the fittings
    • Takes detailed notes during fittings
    • Use technical design skills to assist on fitting the garment correctly to ensure design intent is achieved
  • Responsible for communicating all fit comments to the factories.
  • Responsible for tracking samples through all development stages.
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining sample library.
  • Communicates and follows up with factories.
  • Follows the Product Development Calendar to ensure samples are approved on time.
  • Works directly with cross-functional team to communicate updates in a timely matter.
  • Able to identify opportunities to improve processes and create plan of action.
  • Anticipates potential issues and works to solve them efficiently and effectively.

WHAT ARE THE SKILLS?
  • 1-3 years of Design experience
  • High degree of comfort working with multiple apparel categories and a determination to think outside of the box for solutions - anything is possible attitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through and organizational skills are critical.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and functions in an entrepreneurial organization.
  • Motivated, resourceful problem solver. Must be proactive, collaborative, and a transparent team player when providing solutions.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter mindset that brings new ideas to the team.
  • Technical skills:
    • Garment construction knowledge is required.
    • Must be able to build specs and communicate clear and concise fit notes.
