Position Summary

Assists in making decisions, regarding electrical/electronic projects, including process controllers, servo controllers, vision systems, robotics, manufacturing computer programming and maintenance details.  Makes detailed specifications for electrical installations, automation controls, and energy management policy.  Provide assistance to all departments for new process control equipment and electronic methods.  Assist the JH&SC in establsihing safety criteria for powered components and application of related safety equipment to new and existing machinery.  Provide electrical controls project management support on new process development, new equipment builders, supplier/tool shop communications, and installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Applies electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing, procedures, engineering, physics, computer softward programming skills, program, troubleshoot, repair, and modify existing equipment, new developmental and production equipment control logic.  Provide engineering expertise to all departments requiring advice and/or practical help in solving any electical or control problems.  Assist the maintenance department in establishing PM, PDM and TPM.  Act as an integral part of the Maintenance Technical Services group and assist process engineering providing manufacturing/assembly expertise.  Respond to the individual needs of plant personnel requesting help in a professional, courteous manner.

  • 35% Production and facilities controls and electrical support for 3 shift operation.
  • 25% Continuous improvement of PLC programming, equipment controls troubleshooting, diagnosis and cycle time improvements.
  • 10% Robotics programming and troubleshooting
  • 10% Project service and support for new and existing equipment.
  • 10% Preventative Maintenance
  • 10% Facilities electrical support
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsabilities.
Qualifications
  • 442 Electrician Certification and a minimum of 5 years experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • 3 year college diploma with emphasis on electronics/electrical
  • 2-5 years' experience in electrical/electronic equipment design, robotics programming and electrical maintenance service.
  • 2-5 years' expreience Allen Bradley Controls PLC programming, Wonderware System Platform 2012 expeience, Kronos time management systems experience, and electrical construction experience preferred.
Required Skills
