Job description

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $70.83hr - $75.83hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum 7+ years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13+ years of prior related experience.
  • Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of industry standards, such as IPC for design (including design for manufacturability) and ASME/ANSI for documentation.
  • Knowledge of specific relevant IPC standards including IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs) based on inputs and feedback received from design engineers and manufacturing process engineers.
  • Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design.
  • Ensure that all requirements for manufacturing and assembly are met.
  • Develop and generate drawings and documentation to facilitate PCB fabrication and assembly.
  • Rework PCB designs when engineering design changes occur and assist the design team with ideas to resolve issues.
  • Perform drawing and documentation updates per the instructions of engineering change requests.
  • Create component ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as required for design projects.
  • Hold milestone reviews with stakeholders and release PCB & CCA drawings.

Nice to Have:

  • Multiple years of experience in PCB design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design.
  • An associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or an IPC CID certification.
  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software.
  • Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • IT experience to help with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.
