Position Title Adjunct Faculty, Mathematics: Myths and Realities Department 217510 - B.U.S.C.A.

The BUSCA Program on our Philadelphia campus is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach Mathematics: Myths and Realities, a core class for students in our associate degree program. As BUSCA is a program for English Language Learners, all instructors are expected to teach students the content specific to the assigned course as well as help students develop their English language skills. Courses are taught at night, in person, from 6:00-9:15 PM.
Essential Duties
Prepare meaningful lectures and class activities for the full duration of the published class time for each class period according to academic calendar.
Create a syllabus that meets the Provost's Syllabus Checklist requirements.
Create assessment activities that support the stated learning outcomes for the course.
Address student questions in a timely and helpful manner.
Use Canvas and other technology to enhance student learning.
Support and follow University policies and procedures as well as those for the BUSCA Program.
Attend faculty meetings.
Submit grades and materials for assessment projects on or before stated deadlines.
Communicate student concerns with personnel in the program.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field.
Experience or training working with English Language Learners.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD or JD.
Experience teaching Mathematics at the university level.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
BUSCA classes are offered at night from 6:00-9:15 PM.
