As an Academic Dean, you will play a critical, high-impact role—directly influencing teacher growth, instructional excellence, and student achievement across the campus.

Your Impact as a Leader

Academic Deans at STEM Prep are deeply embedded instructional leaders who shape the teaching culture of their schools.

Instructional Leadership (Primary Focus)
  • Lead the instructional vision for your grade band or content area

  • Conduct weekly classroom observations and deliver actionable feedback

  • Facilitate PLCs, data meetings, and instructional planning cycles

  • Ensure strong, standards-aligned curriculum implementation

  • Coach teachers through goal setting, internalization, and execution

  • Analyze student data to drive performance and close academic gaps

  • Support teacher onboarding, development, and retention

Culture Alignment & Student Support

While instruction is the priority, Academic Deans also support:

  • Tier 1 behavior systems and teacher management skills

  • School culture routines and expectations

  • Clear communication with families and culture teams


School-Wide Leadership Responsibilities

As a key campus leader, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with staff, students, and families

  • Support teacher recruitment and hiring

  • Lead and participate in professional development

  • Maintain visibility and support during high-traffic school moments (arrival, transitions, dismissal, lunch)

  • Ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence

  • Model STEM Prep’s core values: integrity, imagination, drive, collaboration, inquiry


Who We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)

  • 3–5+ years of successful teaching experience

  • Demonstrated track record of improving student achievement

  • Experience coaching teachers or leading teams

  • Ability to obtain/hold TN administrator licensure (preferred)

  • Ability to pass MNPS background check
