The Purchasing Assistant works in concert with other purchasing group members to help coordinate item supply activities with Project Managers and inventory control to provide the proper goods and services required by operations in a timely manner.
Please note: The role will be fully onsite at our Johnson City location initially, transitioning to a hybrid model of 3โ4 days in the office per week after training is complete. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AMโ5:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and enter purchase orders.
- Resolve packing list/invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure inventory levels of all items purchased are in accordance with established purchasing practices.
- Coordinate item substitution approvals with order processing and the Project Managers.
- Account for non-conforming purchased material disposition, including scrap.
- Carry out the disposition of obsolete materials.
- Manage other purchasing-related projects as assigned.
- Assist in sourcing products for clients as needed.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school graduate; Associate degree (Preferred)
- Purchasing experience, 1 year (Preferred)
- Candidates must have exceptional integrity
- Ability to work within a disciplined, quality system-driven environment
- Demonstrated data analysis skills
- Excellent communications skills

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Outlook), and the ability to learn and master other applicable computer systems.
