Incumbent provides for the establishment, maintenance, and management of classroom activities and providing those services necessary to meet the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards.
โ€ข Maintains confidentiality about issues concerning other staff members, children, and families of Enrichment
Services Program.
โ€ข Respects and observes children's interests. Intervenes when needed to maintain safety. Enhances children's play
with language, toys, and activities.
โ€ข Communicates directly with each child at the child's level.
โ€ข Engages and communicates constructively with individual children during activities and routines. Takes every
opportunity to positively extend children's thinking and actions.
โ€ข Stays responsive to children's needs, questions, and requests.
โ€ข Encourages and models social behavior and expectations which are developmentally appropriate.
โ€ข Acknowledges feelings with sensitivity and demonstrates appropriate expression of emotions.
โ€ข Practices positive discipline techniques in guiding children's behavior according to NAEYC, Bright from the Start,
and Caring for our Children Basics.
โ€ข Stays attentive, flexible and supportive of children and their families during transitions to and from classrooms.

โ€ข Develops, organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom.
โ€ข Maintains order by using positive approach to behavior management.
โ€ข Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms.
