GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A Master's Degree with a major in Nursing and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse. Med Surg experience preferred. Must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Mississippi. Must satisfy a criminal history background check, drug screen, and other clinical requirements. Teaching experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

Attendance
Work a minimum of 35 hours each week (including campus and clinical assignments) during each contracted semester. Meet all assigned classes, lab, simulation, and clinical assignments. Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for all duty days. Notify immediate supervisor in a timely manner of any unplanned tardiness or absence. Submit to program chairperson an accurate record of attendance by designated deadlines. Request scheduled time off prior to an absence unless there is an emergency. Attend general faculty, center, and program meetings. Attend required professional development activities.
