Job description

Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a Catholic PreK-8 school in Glen Burnie, MD, seeks a passionate and child-centered 5th-grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This individual will teach Math and Science, and possibly Social Studies. Rooted in the Catholic faith, our school is committed to forming the whole child academically, socially, and spiritually. While serving a diverse community of students. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning in Math and Science while upholding the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Essential Functions
  • Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs for students that adhere to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop lesson plans with clear objectives aligned with the Archdiocesan curriculum.
  • Observe and assess student progress; maintain detailed records of academic performance and student behavior; and share this information with parents.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date gradebook at all times.
  • Communicate with parents and colleagues in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
  • Support the mission of the school and the Catholic Church through instructional practices.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Math, Science, History, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience working with or teaching children preferred.
  • Alignment with and respect for the mission and values of Catholic education.
