Instrumentation and Controls, LLC (IAC) is a manufacturer’s representative (rep) that

specializes in instrumentation, process controls, valves, actuators, safety systems, as well as

engineered systems.


IAC is recognized as one of the strongest instrumentation and process controls rep firms in the

southwest. From simple to complex applications, IAC offers a broad scope of products and

services in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation to customers in the oil and gas, mining,

chemical, environmental, life science, food & beverage, and water & wastewater markets in

Arizona, New Mexico, El Paso, Texas, and Clark County, Nevada.


JOB TITLE:

Inside Sales Engineer


JOB SUMMARY:

The Inside Sales Engineer will work cooperatively with account managers and other employees

of IAC to grow existing customers, create new customers, and meet or exceed monthly sales

quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate new and repeat sales and increase sales and average order size by cross-selling, upselling add-on sales and services as well as offering promotional sale items
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications, and provide product and technical information in a timely manner
  • Proactively recommend correct products and solutions needed by the customer to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns in IAC’s NetSuite CRM/ERP and our manufacturers.
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items, keep customer and contact records up to date and accurate in NetSuite CRM/ERP
  • Follow up with customers to review quotations and ensure we have met all their expectations, and perform ongoing follow ups to resolve any complaints
  • Fill requests for catalogs, information, or samples, and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
  • Remain current on consumer preferences by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals, and educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering strongly preferred
  • Associate degree in a technical field or business concentration as a minimum.
  • Minimum 2 years in similar position if no engineering degree
  • Minimum 1 year in a progressive position (2 years preferred)
  • Product/applications experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and distribution software.
  • Wholesale distribution experience preferred, and knowledge of industrial and municipal markets is a plus!
  • Excellent customer service skills, time management, interpersonal skills, problem solving, analytical ability
  • The ability to work effectively and with others in a fast-paced environment


JOB LOCATION:

Chandler, Arizona


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is primarily a desk job but may require some periods of standing/walking and or lifting

packages that are received in the warehouse.
