Carotek represents over 85 manufacturers as their process equipment distributor, representative, and repair center for pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, IIoT, steam, hydronics and municipal products. www.carotek.com
Carotek is seeking a driven and technically minded Outside Sales Engineer to grow and support our Instrumentation & Valve business across metro Atlanta and the surrounding middle region in Georgia. In this role, you will partner with industrial customers, engineering firms, and plant personnel to provide process solutions, technical expertise, and application support that drive customer success and revenue growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a consultative sales professional who enjoys building relationships, solving technical challenges, and managing a high-impact territory.
Essential Functions
Develop and grow sales within an established territory by expanding existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities
Serve as a trusted advisor to industrial customers by providing technical guidance and application support for instrumentation and valve products
Call on engineers, technicians, maintenance personnel, and plant leadership within industrial facilities
Conduct product training and informational sessions with engineering firms and customers
Review specifications, application requirements, and project documentation to support quotation development
Collaborate closely with Inside Sales and manufacturer partners to deliver effective customer solutions
Deliver professional sales presentations, negotiate opportunities, and close business
Maintain strong relationships with principals, customers, and internal teams
Track territory activity, forecasts, and opportunities within CRM
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies
Participate in trade shows, industry associations, and customer events
Experience, Education and Skills
Associate degree in a technical or business-related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Five years of experience in outside sales, inside sales, field service, or a related industrial role
Experience within industrial process equipment, instrumentation, valves, or related products preferred
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret product specifications and technical documents
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within a territory
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Infor experience a plus)
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
Up to 75% local travel throughout the assigned territory
Occasional overnight travel and weekend events may be required
