Immediate Opportunity: Full-Time Accounting Manager โ€“ Financial Reporting (Sandy, UT)

Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for financial reporting and asset management? Weโ€™re looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Manager โ€“

Financial Reporting to join our team at our Salt Lake, Utah office.

This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in our finance team, responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, managing fixed assets, and supporting compliance requirements.

Key Focus Areas: Financial Reporting & Fixed Assets

This role involves generating and analyzing financial statements using Spreadsheet Server (SAP) and Excel. Youโ€™ll need strong Excel skills for spreadsheet creation, data manipulation, and comprehensive financial analysis. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is highly valuable for crafting executive-level presentations and reports. A deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles, system flows, and effective written communication is essential.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Financial Reporting:
    Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual collection and preparation of financial data for both internal stakeholders and external compliance requirements.
  • Analysis & Presentations:
    Prepare financial highlights narratives, budget vs. actual variance analysis, and performance charts (production, safety, compliance, personnel). Oversee all elements of fixed asset accounting, including CAPEX tracking, asset lifecycle management, and depreciation. Develop visual reports and presentations (PowerPoint/PDF) for executive and mine site leadership.
  • Property Tax Compliance:
    Manage reporting of asset changes to state tax authorities (CO & UT), support annual forecasts in coordination with the budgeting team, and ensure accurate accrual and timely payment of property taxes.
  • Technical Accounting & Audit Support:
    Assist with the creation of technical accounting memos, documentation of internal policies, and preparation for annual audits. Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed. A solid grasp of FASB standards and GAAP is required.
  • Governmental Census Reports:
    Handle annual submissions including the Report of Organization, Capital Expenditures Survey, and U.S. Energy Information data.


Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or related field required. Minimum 5 years of hands-on financial experience within the mining industry is strongly preferred.
  • Skills:
    Excellent technical accounting knowledge, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and outstanding interpersonal skills.


Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.
