Position: Database Administrator 
Location: Alexandria, VA

Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award
Knowesis is seeking a Database Administrator to manage and maintain DoD OIG’s enterprise databases, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable data operations. This role supports day-to-day administration, user support, and production deployment across multiple environments.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.

 The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Administer and maintain database systems, ensuring uptime and performance
  • Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions
  • Perform routine maintenance, backups, and restores
  • Troubleshoot database issues and respond to service requests
  • Support data imports, exports, and reporting functions
  • Ensure compliance with DoD data governance and security policies
  • Document procedures and maintain operational runbooks

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. An Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration
  • Proficiency in SQL and database tools (e.g., SSMS, Oracle Enterprise Manager)
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity and access control standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate
