Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of ESO RF equipment: (modulators, converters, amplifiers, antennas, tracking systems, waveguide, fiber optics)
  • Act as SME/consultant; review/recommend policy and procedure updates; lead special projects to completion
  • Supervise operations on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shifts; manage workloads, train/mentor technicians, ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards
  • Monitor and trend equipment health via control systems; perform inspections, predictive analysis, and manual maintenance (e.g., snow/ice removal)
  • Collaborate across departments and with vendors on engineering/O&M projects
  • Prepare and analyze technical docs, specs, databases for standards conformance
  • Utilize RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.) and tools safely
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's/Bachelor's degree (technical field preferred); military technical school
  • Strong background in RF Technologies / Satellite Communications (3–5+ years preferred)
  • Prior supervision of technical teams in 24x7 operations

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Legal Requirement: Must be a U.S. Person (a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) as position requires access to U.S. export-restricted materials.
  • Completion of basic electronics course (military technical school or accredited program a plus)
  • Proven ability to train/mentor junior staff in operations and maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license (for aerial lift operation on company property)
  • Physical ability to climb ladders >30 ft unassisted, lift up to 75 lbs., work at heights up to 50 ft, outdoors in varying weather, stand/walk/reach for extended periods, respond to alarms
  • Professional demeanor for monitoring diverse content
  • Experience with MS Office, Google Cloud, and AI/predictive applications, monitor and control (e.g., data trending, anomaly detection, or automated alerts for equipment health)
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics tools or cloud-based monitoring to enhance proactive maintenance
  • Must be a US Person: includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
