Senior Associate, Cyber Risk & Analysis| Retail BankAbout the Role

Do you like working in the spotlight? Can you seamlessly build relationships, effectively tell stories, and develop and implement innovative solutions? As a Cyber and Technology Risk Senior Associate at Capital One, you'll be responsible for working with our business and tech partners to identify and mitigate potential tech and cyber risks to Capital One to ensure our Company remains stable and secure.

This specific role focuses on the end-to-end management of the Unified Technology Exception Program (UTEP) program for Bank Tech. You will serve as the central manager tracking technology risk exceptions, managing high-profile executive approvals, ensuring strict data integrity, and facilitating deep-dive risk review and advisory with executive leadership. This role has a high level of exposure across lines of business, and we are looking for someone who is collaborative, deeply organized, and an excellent communicator.

Responsibilities

The TCDR team supporting the Bank Tech & Cyber Risk mission is a passionate and dynamic group of cyber risk analysis professionals focused on enhancing the risk profile of our Retail Bank business through risk analysis, risk management, escalation, and mitigation.

As a Cyber Risk & Analysis Senior Associate focused on the UTEP program, you will:

  • Manage Expiring UTEPs: Lead the monthly kick-off and planning lifecycle, perform initial cyber risk triage and actively manage a phased review process.

  • Drive Communication Cadences: Proactively communicate with stakeholders via dedicated channels regarding highly time sensitive deliverables.

  • Facilitate Executive Approvals: Lead end to end vetting of all high-risk exceptions in advance of review and approval, partnering with multiple stakeholders.

  • Drive UTEP Reporting & Analytics: In support of monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables, ensuring data integrity and compelling storytelling. Utilize AI solutions to enhance current reporting and processes.

  • Foster Key Relationships: Build deep rapport with customers, stakeholders and partners to support your role as trusted Tech Risk advisor.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 3 years of Financial Services, Cyber, and/or Risk Management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business or technology clients

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Process Management, Project Management, or Cyber & Risk Management Experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with Google Suite (specifically managing shared trackers and deck creation)

  • Familiarity with risk management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, ExceptionsOne) or data visualization software (e.g., Tableau).

  • Experience utilizing large scale data analysis to produce executive level presentations

  • Experience utilizing AI tools including Claude and Gemini

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis


Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
