The Business Analyst, Identity & Access Management (IAM) Strategy & Product Management, plays a key role in bridging business needs, cyber security requirements, and technology capabilities to support the evolution of the organization's IAM program.

This position partners with product managers, engineering teams, business stakeholders, risk, audit, and compliance functions to define requirements, analyze processes, develop business cases, and support strategic IAM initiatives.

The successful candidate will help drive IAM product strategy, roadmap development, governance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement efforts across key IAM capabilities, including Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Access Controls, Directory Services, Authentication, Authorization, and Emerging Identity Technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Product Management

  • Support the development and execution of the IAM strategic roadmap aligned to business objectives, regulatory requirements, and cyber security priorities.
  • Partner with IAM Product Managers to define product vision, objectives, key results (OKRs), and success metrics.
  • Conduct market research, benchmarking, and competitive analysis to identify emerging IAM trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Assist in evaluating new IAM capabilities, products, and vendor solutions through business case development and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, reports, and strategy documentation.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Gather, document, and validate business, functional, operational, and reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to identify business needs and pain points.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and product backlog items.
  • Define future-state processes and operating models for IAM services.
  • Analyze impacts across people, process, technology, and governance components.

Product Delivery Support

  • Partner with engineering and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization activities.
  • Assist with roadmap planning and dependency management across IAM initiatives.
  • Track project milestones, risks, issues, and action items.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and business validation activities.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Support IAM governance processes, standards, policies, and control frameworks.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations, internal audit reviews, and external assessments.
  • Analyze IAM controls and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and maturity.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, KCIs, and reporting dashboards to measure program performance.
  • Ensure product requirements align with regulatory, privacy, and security obligations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze IAM operational and business data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Produce dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting packages.
  • Monitor adoption, utilization, risk reduction, and operational performance metrics.
  • Support financial planning, budget tracking, and resource forecasting activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in business analysis, product management, consulting, cyber security, or IAM-related functions.
  • Strong understanding of Identity & Access Management concepts and practices.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.

Salary Range:

$80,800 - 133,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
