Job description

Principal Associate, Associate Creative Director - Brand Creative

Capital One Brand Creative is looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director to bring our brand to life across different audiences, products, channels, and types of communication. You know how to partner with Creative Directors to define the work; and Art Directors and Copywriters to deliver the end product.

Yep, we're a Fortune 100 finance company-credit cards, banking products & services, and best-in-class technology. But our brand is personable, fun, and engaging as we aim to help customers feel at ease on their financial journey.

If you're a champion of strategic ideas with exceptional leadership chops and a customer-focused marketing background, we'd love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with Creative Directors and Project Managers to define intent, brief teams, and deliver marketing that cuts through the noise.
Be a creative leader amongst your team of Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters (including a mix of full-time associates, contractors, and agencies).

  • Lead and execute creative development in support of Capital One's credit card business across Performance Marketing channels, including social media platforms, video, click-based outbound and SEM.

  • Give clear direction and effective feedback around project intent, concepts, design, copy and motion.

  • Collaborate with marketing strategists and internal business clients to positively influence marketing strategy and the customer experience.

  • Use evidence and data to ground your creative decisions.

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of digital marketing channels, social media advertising and marketing trends and translate business intent into creative strategies and executions that market products effectively.

  • Present and influence with a convincing and inspiring style to increase buy-in and open the door for new opportunities - both for your team and department.

  • Mentor and build expertise in your craft, whether copywriting or art direction with your peers, and team members.

WHO YOU ARE

You want to be an EVIDENCE-BASED MARKETER.

  • Your curiosity is endless. There's always something else to learn.

  • You're flexible and not afraid of change-in fact, you welcome the challenge.

  • You share your point of view but seek out what might be missing and listen.

  • You have big ideas and know the best ones are driven by proof, persistence and patience.

  • You're a storyteller. You simplify the complex and compel your audience to act.

  • You know how to enjoy yourself. While fun isn't mandatory, it certainly seems to follow you.

  • You care-about the work, your team and the customers you serve.

Candidates must provide a portfolio of their creative work for consideration

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification

  • At least 3 years of multi-channel digital marketing experience on client-side or agency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience leading creative teams or bodies of work across cross-functional creative teams

  • At least 5 years of experience in copywriting or art direction

  • Experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated industry

  • Experience working with a Fortune 100 brand

  • Experience leading work through agency resources as primary creative point of contact

  • Experience in Performance Marketing testing structures across digital, video and social media channels
