The opportunity
  • The primary function of this job is to safely install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring that all work is in accordance with relevant codes. 
  • Responsible for the Electrical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on the following equipment: air conditioning, filtration, auxiliary building equipment, opening, carding, drawing, and spinning.
  • To be always reasonably available for any problems that may occur which involve anything electrical, availability to be on call when needed. 
  • Maintain all processing units throughout the plant
  • Maintain and/or repair electrical equipment; repair and/or replace wiring.
  • Maintain fire systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems.
  • Maintain air compressors.
  • Maintain HVAC Systems
  • Electrical construction and installation
  • Using ladders, scaffolds, and doing roof tasks in a safe manner
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using proper hand tools and power tools.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and/or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, etc., to ensure compatibility and safety of systems. 
  • 12-hours shifts

The requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years electrical experience
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a cotton dust environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and willingness to work with a team.
  • Exceptional attendance and work ethic
  • Ability to work safely at all times, observing all electrical safety requirements related to the job and plant.
  • Ability to work in a cotton dust environment.
