About this role:

We are seeking a talented Associate Data Scientist to join the Marketing Technology team within GSSO. In this role, you will build AI-powered solutions that accelerate Sales and Marketing productivity. You will partner with Product Owners, engineers, and data scientists to transform prospecting for Gartner's 7,000+ sales associates. Beyond model development, you will help shape Gartner's next generation of AI solutions through experimentation, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and intelligent recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.

What you will do:

  • Design and implement Large Language Model (LLM)-based agents that synthesize information and automate business workflows.

  • Apply NLP and Generative AI techniques to derive actionable insights from structured and unstructured data.

  • Design, test, and optimize prompts, retrieval strategies, and agent workflows to improve AI performance and scalability.

  • Build recommendation solutions, such as prospect interest prediction and personalized outreach recommendations, to enhance prospecting effectiveness.

  • Rapidly prototype AI capabilities, evaluate business impact, and help transition successful pilots into production.

  • Partner with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

  • Stay current on advancements in machine learning, Generative AI, and agentic systems, bringing new ideas and best practices to the team.

What you will need:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of experience applying data science and machine learning techniques through professional work, internships, or research.

  • Experience with Python, SQL, statistical analysis, and databases.

  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, with a strong interest in Generative AI and machine learning.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and connect solutions to business outcomes.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 118,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
