Job description

Atss has a client in Mobile, AL area, looking for Production Controls Lead

The purpose of this position is to develop and manage the systems, processes, and procedures to track and control shipyard performance. The Production Control Lead will interface with all necessary departments to develop accurate reports, metrics and KPIs for use in managing all aspects of the shipyard.

The role is highly data driven, requiring both analytic and presentation skills to ensure that all information is accurate and presented clearly to the end users.

The ideal candidate must be able to understand the data, develop solutions, formalize processes and communicate well to ensure all stakeholders are informed. Key Responsibilities:

• Extracting and using data from existing data sources

•

Combining and manipulating data from multiple sources

• Review and verification of data accuracy

• Establishing, formalizing and documenting processes and procedures

• Establishing code structures to help track information

• Identifying trends in data

• Assist with developing/tracking estimates, schedules and work packages

• Assist in other areas where the need arises Supervisory Responsibilities:

Initially there will be no supervisory responsibilities, however supervision responsibilities may be added . The role is pivotal in the development of the shipyard and helps shape the path forward.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Required:

o Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, computer science, finance, or related field PLUS five (5) years of relevant experience, an Associate’s degree PLUS

seven (7) years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma PLUS ten (10) years of related experience

o Strong Microsoft Office skills

o Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Pivot and data models

o Experience in shipbuilding, or similar heavy industry, data or cost tracking o Knowledge of manufacturing processes o Understanding of planning and scheduling o Ability to work independently or as part of a team o Must maintain professionalism

• Desired: o Knowledge of ERP Systems (for example SAP, IFS, NetSuite) o Experience using MS Project or Primavera P6 o Knowledge of Project Management o Knowledge of Earned Value Management o Understanding technical drawings and specifications


Working Conditions:

The position is office based, but the shipyard is an active industrial site and, as such, there will be occasions when physical demands will be required during day-to-day operations – climbing stairs/ladder, accessing areas with moving equipment or loud noises are present. Personnel must follow all safety requirements – adhering to policies and procedures, wearing all required personal protective equipment, etc. Training is provided to all employees.
