Job description

SUMMARY
This is a role that will work on our Blow Mold department. Applicants should have experience in plastics, preferably in blow molding or injection molding.
The Engineering Technician (Blow Mold Process Specialist) plays a crucial role in supporting engineering teams by assisting in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of various engineering projects. This position involves working closely with engineers and other technical professionals to ensure the smooth operation of engineering processes and systems. The Engineering Technician may work in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, telecommunications, or research and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
  • Collaborate with engineers to create detailed designs, blueprints, or schematics for new products, systems, or structures. Aid in the development and modification of existing designs, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools as necessary.
  • Conduct various tests and experiments on engineering prototypes or systems to collect data and identify potential issues. Assist in the analysis of test results, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Operate and maintain engineering equipment, machinery, and tools to support engineering activities. Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to engineering projects, tests, and procedures. Prepare technical reports, diagrams, and charts to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Provide technical support and assistance during the implementation of engineering projects. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines.
  • Assist in quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and regulations. Participate in inspections and audits to identify non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Identify and report potential safety hazards, and contribute to the development and implementation of safety procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering teams, providing technical support and sharing knowledge. Communicate project updates, challenges, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
An individual qualified for this job should possess:
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
  • Associate degree or relevant certification in engineering technology or a related field. A bachelor's degree in engineering may be required for more specialized positions.
