What is an associate civil engineer?

Associate Civil Engineers are professionals who assist in the planning, design, and oversight of construction and infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and water systems. The projects are challenging and provide unique design opportunities. You will be responsible for designing solid waste facilities that will enable LaBella to create sustainable, cost-effective solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients. • Preparing various types of related reports and studies to secure permitting for projects.
  • Drafting work for scoping/conceptual work/engineering packages.
  • Position will require some travel to clients’ facilities to better understand design issues and to monitor construction progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Passed the FE Exam with intent to obtain Professional Engineer license, and 0 to 5 years of experience, including solid waste, land development, or closely related projects.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Ideal candidate has the traits of a team player who is enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and project management and can lead projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design and construction.
  • Must have good communication skills, be a team player and be able to relate well to project team, clients, regulators, and contractors.
