About the role:

Business Systems Analyst

The IT Energy Operations, Strategy, and Construction team is looking for a Business Technology Analyst to provide support for our Commodities Product Team. You will assign requirements gathering/documentation, as-is/to-be analysis, and gap analysis assignments along with new system implementation projects and maintenance support of existing systems. You will have an excellent understanding of the BTA/BSA skillset and toolset and have a understanding of modern computing technologies. (written, verbal, presentation) with internal partners, IT personnel, and external service providers is critical to success in this role. You will develop new and innovative processes to automate and reduce workload and contribute to IT and our business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate requirements workshops for large and/or complex projects.
  • Functionally deconstruct, analyze, and document our internal business partners' systems, problems, processes, and needs.
  • Define requirements and test cases using structured methodologies.
  • Lead documentation of requirements, test cases, use cases, and design thinking exercises.
  • Provide written and verbal updates on projects and solutions to IT and business management.
  • Consult to our internal partners regarding technology and process solutions.
  • Facilitate finding, developing viable technology solutions for our partners by working with teammates, IT groups within the company, external service providers, and partners.
  • Provide guidance to our internal partners by knowing what software systems they have in place and determining what those systems may be capable of going forward.
  • Work with internal partners, IT groups, and external service providers to implement new systems, modify existing systems, and provide system maintenance support.
  • Provide application and system support for multiple systems used by our internal business partners.
  • Provide support for projects and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Perform Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance control execution and evidence gathering

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience
  • Bachelors preferred – IT, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Engineering, and open to other majors
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED/Equivalency
  • Experience in information Technology, a business/technology consulting firm, utility experience, oil and gas experience.
  • IT experience in a large-scale environment, across multiple hardware and software platforms.
