The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner while providing exceptional guest service. This position supports restaurant operations by assisting servers, maintaining cleanliness of dining areas, bussing tables, supporting banquet and buffet functions, and performing various food and beverage service duties throughout the property. The Food Runner plays a key role in ensuring a positive dining experience for guests by promoting efficiency, teamwork, and hospitality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver food orders accurately and efficiently from the kitchen to guests.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service.
  • Assist servers by delivering food and beverages to guests as needed.
  • Bus and reset tables promptly to maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment.
  • Refill water, condiments, and service stations as necessary.
  • Support bar operations by delivering food orders to bar guests and replenishing ice supplies.
  • Assist with buffet setup, monitoring, guest service, replenishment of food items, and breakdown of buffet areas.
  • Support Cottonwood BBQ and other outdoor dining events by setting up service stations, beverages, plates, silverware, and other required supplies.
  • Assist with cleanup and restoration of event and dining areas following service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, patios, service stations, and back-of-house areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests and fellow associates.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate concerns to management when appropriate.
  • Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Must be dependable and maintain a professional appearance.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and carry trays, dishes, and service supplies.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and sun exposure.
