Job Description

Responsibility

The Genetics and Genomics Department in the Genzyme R&D Center seeks a highly motivated bioinformatics scientist/computational biologist to work in a dynamic and cross-functional team involved in genomics and translational research.

You are expected to develop and evaluate computational tools and software solutions in support of genomics research.

You will be responsible for executing genomic scale computational analysis and translate complex data into testable hypotheses.


Skills

-Proficiency in processing and analysis of large scale genetic and genomics platforms

-Working experience with graph theory and machine learning algorithms

-Thorough knowledge of network analysis and visualization tools

-Programming competence with R, Python and JAVA

-Effective teamwork and communication skills


Qualifications

Ph.D degree in bioinformatics, computational biology or related discipline with 2 years or more of research experience in genomics and systems biology.

Experience must include analyzing next generation sequencing data and expert knowledge of integrative biological network analysis.

Research experience in molecular and disease biology is highly desired.
