The Associate Quality Engineer (IC1) supports the delivery of secure, reliable, high-quality software by executing manual and automated testing, maintaining test assets, using AI-assisted testing tools, and identifying defects. Working with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and other teams, this early-career role validates product functionality and helps ensure established requirements and quality standards are met. Success requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.


Key ResponsibilitiesAI-Enabled Quality Engineering & Technical Excellence
  • Execute manual and automated testing activities to validate product functionality, quality, and release readiness.
  • Develop and maintain test cases, test collections, automated tests, and test data that provide appropriate coverage for assigned features.
  • Utilize AI-assisted testing tools to improve testing efficiency, documentation quality, and test artifact generation while exercising sound engineering judgment to validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Apply established quality engineering practices, responsible AI validation principles, and testing standards to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality software.
Accountability & Results
  • Support the implementation of testing strategies that validate functional, integration, acceptance, smoke, regression, API, end-to-end, and non-functional requirements for assigned products and features. 
  • Execute automated and manual test suites that improve release confidence and verify application quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Assist engineering teams in reproducing, analyzing, and troubleshooting software defects while supporting timely resolution and release readiness.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to test automation, CI/CD quality gates, and engineering workflows that improve testing efficiency and release quality.
  • Maintain technical documentation, test assets, quality metrics, and reusable testing components that support consistent quality engineering practices.
  • Develop proficiency in modern testing frameworks, AI-enabled testing capabilities, observability concepts, and quality engineering methodologies through hands-on application and continuous learning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation, defect prevention, and overall product quality through continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Developer Experience, Infrastructure, and fellow Quality Engineers to identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies while communicating testing progress, quality concerns, release readiness, and technical recommendations.
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews for testability, and quality planning activities to promote shift-left quality practices.
  • Actively seek feedback, share technical knowledge, and collaborate with teammates to strengthen quality engineering practices and continuously improve product quality. 

This role is remote with quarterly in-person strategy meetings.

Requirements:Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile development practices.
  • Familiarity with manual testing techniques and an interest in automated testing and quality engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of automated testing frameworks, scripting languages, or programming fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools, AI-enabled development workflows, or generative AI technologies used to support software engineering. 
  • Basic understanding of APIs, web applications, and modern software architectures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively on Agile teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Internship, academic project, or hands-on experience in software testing orautomation.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience (JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or similar).
  • Exposure to Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar engineering tools.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted testing, prompt engineering, or intelligent test generation.

This role is remote with quarterly in-person strategy meetings.
