The Technology Manager role at Valmet combines technical expertise with a focus on sales and business development within the exciting tissue industry. Responsible for supporting our customers' manufacturing requirements by presenting Valmet technology as the solution.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to co-ordinate efforts including proposal development including scope definition, specification, performance guarantees and costing and pricing. This person works side by side with the sales team members to establish close customer relationships to help surpass their expectations and move their performance forward.

You will develop and follow project start-up, interacting with the customer and internal resources to ensure goals and guarantees are met. Coordinate all functions related to the profitable sales and technical success and changing application norms as appropriate for future projects. This position's requirements include applications of solutions to our customer's machinery, sales presentations, assisting in the technical specification generation and negotiations.

Technical understanding of paper making equipment is required.

The successful applicant must be interested in learning the technical sales part of the business, all the way from applications work through warranty. He or She will also provide clear and accurate communications between our customers and Valmet internal departments. This will also provide the ability for this person to be given authority and responsibility for product budgeting and results according to that budget.

Expectations

This opportunity could be right for you if you have a bachelor's degree in Paper Science with advanced knowledge in Tissue processes, Engineering, or a related degree with a minimum of three to five related experience in the paper industry. An Associates or Technical degree with hands on Pulp & Paper experience and a passion to serve our customers could also be considered.

Intermediate to advanced computer literacy with Microsoft Office, general enterprise resource planning systems and customer relationship management tools are required. Requires an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken as the incumbent will be supporting customers based in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Available to travel frequently within North America and Globally. Effective communication and presentation skills are an important part of this position.
