CNC Programmer / Senior CNC Programmer

Milling or Swiss Turn Platforms
Location: Marquette, MI, Onsite
Openings: 2 (1 Milling | 1 Swiss Turn)

EXALTA Group in Marquette, MI is hiring two CNC Programmers (all levels, Senior experience preferred) to support our growing medical device manufacturing operations — one focused on Milling platforms and one focused on Swiss Turning platforms.

What You’ll Do

Depending on level and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Develop, prove-out, and optimize CNC programs for Milling or Swiss Turn equipment
  • Lead or support complex machine set-ups and first article runs
  • Design and implement fixtures and tooling to support repeatable, high-quality production
  • Drive process improvements to reduce scrap, improve cycle time, and increase predictability
  • Support new product development and design transfer into manufacturing
  • Perform capability studies and support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality challenges using structured problem-solving
  • Standardize programming practices and mentor operators and Set-Up Technicians
  • Support implementation of tool monitoring, adaptive control, and automation technologies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations

Senior-level candidates will additionally:

  • Lead complex multi-axis programming initiatives
  • Establish machining strategies for new product introductions
  • Serve as a technical mentor and subject matter expert
  • Drive capital equipment recommendations and advanced process optimization

What You Bring

Required:

  • CNC Machining Certificate, Associate’s degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience programming and setting up CNC equipment in a production environment
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of CNC experience (8+ years for Senior-level consideration)
  • Advanced experience with either Milling (3-, 4-, 5-axis) or Swiss Turn platforms
  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting validated processes in a regulated environment
  • CAM software proficiency and multi-axis machining expertise
