The Senior Automation Maintenance Technician plays a critical role at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing highvolume automated manufacturing equipment used in reagent production. This role provides handson electrical, mechanical, and controls expertise to ensure reliable equipment performance, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement. Working closely with engineers, technicians, and external suppliers, the technician helps deliver exceptional equipment reliability, performance, and compliance within an FDAregulated manufacturing environment.

This position is part of theManufacturing Process Engineering teamand willbeanon-siterole, supporting our Reagent Operations facility locatedinChaska, MN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair highly automated production equipment (electrical, mechanical, PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, motion control) to minimize downtime and restore stable operations.
  • Perform root cause analysis of automation, process, and material issues, implementing corrective actions to improve manufacturing performance and reliability.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new/upgraded equipment while maintaining technical documentation and collaborating crossfunctionally to enhance equipment reliability.

Essential Requirements

  • Associate degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field, with 6+ years of experience including experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotics, vision systems, and PLC/HMI platforms (such as Rockwell), including schematic interpretation and machine/electrical safety (LOTO, NFPA 70E).
  • Proven problem-solver in fast-paced production environments with strong communication skills and flexibility to support offshift or oncall operations.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Apply Lean Six Sigma tools, statistical methods, and data analysis to drive process improvements, quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments, ensuring compliance with quality systems and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Hold or working toward advanced automation certifications (e.g., ISA CCST, CAP) with a focus on continuous technical development.

The hourly range for this role is $38.47 - $43.27. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
