Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE: 
The Engineer II is responsible for designing, building, and supporting the CI/CD platforms, automation frameworks, and developer tools that enable secure, reliable, and repeatable software delivery. The role develops and maintains Pipeline-as-Code, Infrastructure-as-Code, and deployment automation across Azure and on-premises environments, using tools such as CloudBees, GitHub and GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Terraform, Docker, and Ansible, integrated with a broader DevOps toolchain that includes SonarQube, Nexus, Splunk, Dynatrace, and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence. Working closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams, the Engineer II helps improve automation, self-service capabilities, and day-to-day reliability across the software delivery lifecycle.

The base salary range for this role is $113,200 - $195,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation solutions that enable secure, reliable, and efficient software delivery across Azure and on-premises environments.
    Develop and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible to standardize and automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
    Administer and enhance the enterprise DevOps toolchain, including CloudBees, GitHub, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Nexus Repository, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, and Dynatrace, ensuring platform availability, performance, and scalability.
    Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to establish and support standardized build, test, release, and deployment processes that improve software quality and delivery speed.
    Implement automated quality, security, and compliance controls within CI/CD pipelines, including code quality analysis, artifact management, and deployment validation.
    Support containerization and modern application delivery practices using technologies such as Docker and cloud-native deployment methodologies.
    Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve CI/CD platform, automation, and deployment issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive improvements to reduce operational risk.
    Evaluate, implement, and support self-service platform capabilities and developer enablement solutions that improve developer productivity, streamline software delivery, and promote DevOps best practices.
    Experience using AI-powered engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development and automation tools) to improve code quality, productivity, troubleshooting, and software delivery processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
    7 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technology roles.
    3 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and software delivery platforms.
    Experience supporting cloud and hybrid environments, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure.
    Hands-on experience with CI/CD and source control platforms including CloudBees/Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and repository management practices.
    Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), configuration management (Ansible), containerization (Docker), and automation scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
    Experience administering and integrating DevOps tools such as SonarQube, Nexus Repository, Splunk, Dynatrace, Jira, and Confluence.
    Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps principles, release management, CI/CD best practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
    Working knowledge of modern application architectures, APIs, distributed systems, and technologies such as Spring Boot, Angular, and cloud-native applications.
    Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, GitHub, CloudBees/Jenkins, Kubernetes, or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. 
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. 
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
