Volt is immediately hiring Audio Visual Technician in Greenville, SC.
As an Audio-Visual Technician, you will:
  • Audio-Visual Infrastructure: Lead the structural mounting, rigging, and physical setup of projectors, motorized screens, displays, structural Video Walls, and performance loudspeakers.
  • Control & DSP Rack Builds: Build, wire, and dress equipment racks to neat, professional standards; load configurations and firmware for control processors and DSPs (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS).
  • Signal & Control Wiring: Pull, terminate, and test structural low-voltage cabling including Category lines (Cat6/6A), fiber optics, shielded audio, and high-bandwidth video lines.
  • Network & Device Setup: Deploy and address networked AV field devices, validating physical connections, PoE power delivery, and basic IP addressing via laptop tools.
  • Site Management & Leadership: Read and interpret architectural blueprints, structural details, and AV line drawings; manage on-site inventory, interface with general contractors, and mentor Level 1 and 2 installers.
  • System Commissioning: Conduct initial signal flow testing, gain staging, and hardware verification to ensure the system is ready for final programming and handover.

This is a Full-time, Contract to Hire opportunity.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience: 5-8 years of verifiable experience in commercial AV installation, rack building, rough-in, and trim-out.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert mastery of professional power tools, structural rigging/mounting hardware, multi-meters, tone/probe kits, and advanced network testing equipment (Fluke/OTDR).
  • Code Knowledge: Deep understanding of TIA/EIA standards, InfoComm/AVIXA installation standards, and NEC codes regarding low-voltage signal cabling.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (associate degree or technical trade certificate preferred).
  • Preferred Certifications: AVIXA CTS or CTS-I, Q-SYS Level 1 or 2, Crestron/Extron installation certifications, Dante Levels 1-3, or manufacturer-specific hardware training.

Pay Range: $30.00 - $37.00 Per hour
