Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lecture and Lab instruction for Automotive courses.
  • Courses range from Introduction to Automotive Maintenance to Advanced Diagnostics.
  • Provide Lab Safety Training.
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
  • Provide advisement to students.
  • Participate in program and/or curriculum development as requested.
  • Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.
  • Teach automotive courses at the North Las Vegas Campus in-person, scheduled during the day, evening, and weekend.
Employment Details

Applications will be considered on an as‑needed basis determined by course availability.

Required Qualifications
  • Current ASE certifications.
  • 5 years of experience as a technician in the automotive industry.
  • Criminal background check may be required for selected candidates.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform job‑related tasks required for the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technologies.
  • G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair certification.
  • Knowledge of computer classroom technologies.
  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
  • Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.
Salary and Schedule

Salary: $925.00 per lecture credit hour; credits will vary by semester.

Schedule: Automotive classes are scheduled in mornings, afternoons, and evenings, in accelerated 5‑week sessions, 8‑week sessions, and traditional 16‑week sessions.

Full‑time equivalent: 25.0%; Exempt: Yes.
