ADJUNCT FACULTY – AUTOMOTIVE KENNEDY KING COLLEGE

Kennedy King College is currently seeking a part-time faculty toteach automotive technology. If you have passion for teaching andlearning and are committed to the mission of the community college, consider joining our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs and engage the student in critical thinking and problem-solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Facilitate courses by delivering engaging lectures and guidingclassroom discussions.
  • Counsel students on academic progress, and course-relatedquestions.
  • Prepare clear, organized lectures and instructionalmaterials.
  • Grade assignments, exams, and projects promptly withconstructive feedback.
  • Participate in committees and activities that contribute to thecollege community and its goals.
  • Demonstrates strong content expertise in the discipline,ensuring accurate and up-to-date instruction.
  • Applies innovative pedagogy that engages students throughactive learning and real-world connections.
  • Embraces a cooperative approach, collaborating effectively withcolleagues and department members.
  • Shows a deep commitment to student mentoring, providingguidance and support for academic and career success.
  • Aligns with and actively supports the mission of the college,fostering equity, inclusion, and student achievement.
  • Employs a variety of teaching methods to meet students’ varyinglearning needs, abilities, and interests and to optimize studentoutcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate of Applied Science in Auto Technology and 3-4 yearsof work experience in the field.
  • Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills required with the abilityto communicate persuasively with tact and diplomacy.
  • The ability to work in a culturally diverse work environment.
  • Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student populationdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of thecommunity college.
  • Knowledge of Brightspace or similar Learning Management Systempreferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.

The starting salary for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 percontact hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Collegesapproved salary scale.
