Job description

Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our team!
Location: 12801 North Tatum Blvd, Phoenix, AZ
Position: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt
Compensation: $20 / hr - $22 / hr! Paid bi-weekly!
What You'll Be Doing
  • Create a best-in-class customer experience for every customer, every time.
  • Obtain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products (i.e., dimensions and weight, assembly, construction materials) in the course of storing, moving and assembling our merchandise.
  • Transport, locate, load and unload merchandise into customers' cars, delivery trucks and within the warehouse in a safe and professional manner. This includes heavy and sometimes oddly shaped merchandise.
  • Use computer terminal to look up customer and merchandise information.
  • Match product to invoice, packing slip or bill of landing accurately and ensure orders have been paid in full.
  • Handle and assemble merchandise with care to prevent damage.
  • Assist with showroom changes, tagging merchandise and help maintain displays and a clean and orderly showroom and backroom.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance within working environment and with all equipment and tools.
  • Follows all company safety and accident procedures while on company premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
  • Consistently observes safe lifting methods.
  • May on occasion travel to customer location to perform delivery, assembly and/or repair.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Who You Are and Must
  • Excellent customer service, team and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and reliability.
  • Able to read and understand work orders, shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Able to lift a min. of 75 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
  • Able to obtain and maintain Forklift training and certification, as necessary.
  • Experience in operation of the various equipment including but not limited to pallet, jacks, hand tools, 4-wheeler and hand truck as needed as well as other small power and/or hand tools.
  • Basic math, computer and POS skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Have a valid state issued driver's license.
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Submit to the following prior to employment:
    • Pre-employment drug screening
    • Physical screening
    • Background check
    • Be subject to random and post-accident drug screening
  • Continuous standing, lifting, bending and twisting
  • Comfortable at heights up to 25'

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED, 1-3 years successful work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment
