Who We Are

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking an Aircraft Air Conditioning Unit (ACU-802) Technician in Crane, Indiana and/or Jacksonville, Florida to be part of our maintenance team. This role is to support the upcoming Logistics, ISR, and Next-Gen Technology (LOGIX) Task Order (TO). The technician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining ACU-802 aircraft air conditioning units ensuring optimal performance and compliance with all USN safety and regulatory standards. The LOGIX TO will support the JADC2 goal to deliver a relevant information advantage with ISR operations and logistics support. To support continued progress and sustainment of the JADC2 Strategy, the LOGIX TO support the accelerated application of technological solutions by analyzing new and emerging technologies for DIU-NSIN Mission Partner systems, technologies, capabilities, platforms, equipment, and associated subordinate and supporting systems used to execute their missions.

What You Will Do
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on ACU-802 aircraft air conditioning units to include the diesel power unit
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to cooling, heating and ventilation systems in the ACU-802 unit
  • Conduct inspection and tests to ensure compliance with safety, performance and regulatory standards
  • Replace faulty components such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves and filters
  • Document all maintenance and all repair work in line with US Navy policy
  • Work closely with other maintenance personnel and engineering teams to identify potential problems
  • Additional duties as assigned or required
What We Are Looking For
  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
  • Experience in HVAC or aircraft environmental control systems, and as a Diesel Technician
  • Knowledge of electrical, control systems and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to liftand handle over 40lbs
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred: Bonus Points For...
  • 2+ years experience in HVAC or aircraft environmental control systems, 2+ years as a Diesel Technician
  • Technical certification or Associate Degree in HVAC or Diesel fields
  • Experience repairing and maintaining the ACU-802 system within US Navy guidelines
  • Certification in HVAC or EPA Section 608 certification for refrigeration handling
  • Clearance: Possess and maintain a Secret clearance
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and handle 40lbs and higher. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
